Day 1

I’ve been wanting to do more art recently, I wanted something to commit to so I decided to find a drawing challenge and give it ago. I’m excited to try to practice drawing things I wouldn’t usually do and to just see how it goes. Over the next week I’m going to be sharing my progress, so for the first time I’ll be posting everyday (I didn’t do Blogmas), which is exciting!

The Challenge

Day 1: A drawing of you and why you want to do this challenge

Day 2: Spin around 2 times with your eyes closed. Draw the first thing you see when you open your eyes.

Day 3: Draw your breakfast

Day 4: Draw your fantasy house

Day 5: Draw your school

Day 6: use your favorite drawing tool and draw anything you want, then tell what it is and why it is your favorite drawing tool.

Day 7: What time is it? Draw something that has to do with the time.

Okay, so when I fist saw that day 1 involved drawing myself, I instantly thought about changing it something else. I’m not the best at figure drawing, or drawing faces, but then I thought it was a challenge so I’ve got to give it ago. Here’s what I drew…

It’s based off this photo:

I decided it’ll be easier since I suck at drawing faces to just draw the back of me. I added the colourful abstract style mountains because I thought it could represent the sort of art I like to draw. So it’s like I’m looking out at all the art I’m going to be doing over the next few days.

While I was in the creative mood I also drew this colourful flower.

This was actually just based on a flower on my bedding. Inspiration can come from such random things sometimes.

I’m excited to see where this challenge takes me, I encourage you do to something to challenge yourself this week!

Thank you for reading,

Ella xxx

      1. Oh I have, many times over the years, but I have no artistic talent that way. I didn’t do well in arts at school either. I draw like a 5 year old.
An occupation I would have liked to have was police sketch artist, but if I can’t draw…….

      2. That would be such a cool job. Maybe you just haven’t found your style of drawing yet. I never used to think I could draw but then I started drawing more abstract things and found out I was actually quite good at it.
