Goodbye Craft Up Your Life. Gone but never forgotten. It’s time to welcome a brand new name: The Isle of Ella.
Why did I change the Name?
Mainly because I just really started to dislike the old name. I was maybe 17 when I started blogging and back then it was meant to be just a place to document my crafts but now I write about so much more than just that. I was often feeling that I was holding back on what I post because it didn’t fit too well with the name of my blog. I know it’s a bit silly really but If you don’t like something and you can change it then why not?
How I picked the New Name
Well, I knew I wanted my name in the title and I originally was planning on changing it to Ella Land but it was taken. When I was younger I used to imagine a perfect world where I was the queen called Ella Land so thought that’d be a pretty funny name. Obviously, that wasn’t meant to be so then I thought about calling it Ella Island. Then I realised if I did that my URL would read as “Ella is land”, rather than “Ella Island”. So then I finally came up with The Isle of Ella and it was available and looked sort of okay as a URL. It may be could be read as “This is le of Ella” but that literally makes no sense so I’m not mad about it.
The whole thing was very spontaneous and maybe not that well planned but I really wanted it changed and I’m happy. I did it all last night and stayed up way too late. I was really getting sucked into the whole process tbh once you start there’s no going back.
What’s next for the blog?
Literally anything, I’m really going to try to write about whatever I want. Obviously, I’m going to still share all my creative stuff but I want to start doing more post where I write about anything that interests me or I feel like writing about. So if you only really follow me for arts, crafts and photography then I understand if you don’t want to stick around.
That’s all for now, thank you so much for reading.
P.S. I know I haven’t been too active recently I’ve been quite busy with assignments but I’m hoping now it’s Christmas break I can catch up with some of your posts.
